and Shameless Plugs!
Without a doubt one of the best places to buy musical instruments, and home
recording equipment online, is at Musician's Friend.
com. Pay a visit to
their web site, they also have a great mail order
catalog and outstanding customer service.
Buy a guitar through the mail you say? no way! Well ya way, when I
was young and low on funds I'd play every guitar in the store before I handed
over my hard earned cash, expounding on the subtle differences between two of
the same make and model.
Now a days most factory guitars have such tight tolerances, there's not much difference between
any two guitars of the same make and model unless their hand made (obviously there are exceptions),
which is ok with me, it keeps the price down. Truth is if your good
you can play anything within reason. I bought a Fender
Strat .TM
through
the mail from Musician's
Friend and was really pleased with the purchase and service. If your on a
tight budget (and who isn't) give them a try you won't be disappointed.

I would be remiss in not listing a link to the site of a woman that I've had a
crush on since the early 70's and that
person is the renown Bonnie Raitt. If you ever get a chance to see her in
concert do so, her band is one of the tightest around and it will be an experience you'll never forget.
(I have never purchased a bad Bonnie Ratt CD, I don't think they exists).

One of the biggest musical influences for me would have to be the late great
Stevie Ray Vaughan, foremost blues men and all time rocker who is sadly no
longer with us. The web site Electric Blues
does a great job
of listing relevant links and info on Stevie, including a link to the Stevie Ray Vaughan
Web Ring, check it out and by all means buy one of Stevie's CD's. He may
have passed on, but he'll never be forgotten.
